HOLLYWOOD, California — Director Michael Bay has revealed on his Web site that the next installment in the Transformers movie franchise will be called Transformers: Age of Extinction. The announcement came along with the official movie poster that confirmed a U.S. release date of June 27, 2014.
The artwork issued with the announcement shows the number 4 combined with a Decepticon badge sitting in the sand.
Michael Bay has kept next summer's blockbuster's plot details close to the chest. We do know that the movie features a whole new cast.
There are Chinese media reports claiming that the new film will feature the amazing Dinobots, the faction of robots that transform into a dinosaur or similar prehistoric animal.
Bay has been rolling out the Transformers 4 vehicle lineup on a regular basis. The cars include a 2013 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4, a 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and a military truck from Oshkosh Defense that will serve at the Autobot character Hound.
Transformers: Age of Extinction co-stars Mark Wahlberg, Nicola Peltz, Jack Reynor, Kelsey Grammer, Stanley Tucci and T.J. Miller. Filming kicked off at the end of May in Monument Valley, Utah and has continued in Detroit and Chicago. The Detroit set was designed to resemble Hong Kong, while the Chicago set was made to look like mainland China.
Edmunds says: Transformers: Age of Extinction may feature a new cast, but that doesn't mean it will lack any of the typical Michael Bay explosion-filled action.
