BERLIN — The redesigned 2015 Volkswagen Passat will lead Volkswagen AG's future-product onslaught, the German automaker said in its 2013 financial report on Thursday.

Other key launches for Volkswagen "this year and next year" include the 2015 Audi A4 and Audi Q7, along with the 2015 Porsche Macan and the plug-in hybrid version of the Porsche Cayenne.

Volkswagen Group brands will be launching "more than 100 new models, successors and product enhancements," the report said.

The Volkswagen Passat offers car shoppers a Euro-style choice in the family-sedan segment. It targets such mainstays as the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Camry.

The Audi A4, an entry-level luxury sedan, goes up against such rivals as the BMW 3 Series, Cadillac CTS and Mercedes-Benz C-Class.

The Audi Q7 luxury crossover, which is due for an overhaul, competes with the BMW X5, Lexus LX and Mercedes-Benz GL-Class.

The Porsche Macan, a luxury crossover dubbed the "Baby Cayenne," debuted to great fanfare at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show. It targets the Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Land Rover Range Rover Evoque.

The Porsche Cayenne plug-in hybrid signals a new era for the German brand. Edmunds reported last year that Porsche plans a plug-in hybrid version of every major model.

Edmunds says: Lots of good things on the way for car shoppers from VW.
