ATLANTA — Porsche Driver's Selection has released three new designer collections. One set is inspired by actor Steve McQueen, another celebrates the 50 years of the Porsche 911 and the last recognizes the 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race.
The German automaker kicks off the collections with a Steve McQueen line that mimics the look of the iconic exotic car fan and Hollywood great. Porsche collaborated with artist Nicolas Hunziker and the son of the late actor, Chad McQueen, for the Steve McQueen collection, which includes t-shirts, polos and racing jackets for both men and women. The men's racing jacket is priced at $500.
A McQueen-inspired baseball cap costs $50, while a t-shirt is priced at $80.
The collection celebrating the 50 years of the 911 revives fashion from the 1960s and includes polo shirts, leather jackets with houndstooth accents as well as a limited-edition watch that will only see 1,963 examples made.
Porsche finishes off the collections with the Motorsport line that celebrates the 24 Hours of Le Mans event. Polo shirts are again available along with windbreaker jackets and accessories like coffee mugs and a computer mouse.
The Porsche Driver's Selection items can be purchased at authorized Porsche dealerships or online.
Edmunds says: Although some of the items are expensive, it's hard to put a price tag on copying the look of the "King of Cool."
