- The teaser has a McLaren F1 facing off against a McLaren P1.
REDMOND, Washington — Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios have released a teaser trailer for Forza Motorsport 5. The game will be played on the upcoming Xbox One gaming console.
At the announcement for its third-generation Xbox console, Microsoft showed a video teaser of Forza Motorsport 5 where an old-school McLaren F1 is pitted against the new-age McLaren P1.
Although it isn't in-game footage, you can see that the console's 8GB of RAM and 8-core x86 processor have really improved the graphics. The new Xbox also has the motion-sensing Kinect system built in, which has a pixel depth sensor sensitive enough to detect human body temperature.
Forza Motorsport 5 could trump Gran Turismo 6 as the most advanced console racing sim considering that the new Gran Turismo title will be released on the soon-to-be antiquated PlayStation 3. Sony's new console, the PlayStation 4, will be released along with the Xbox One just in time for the holidays in the fourth quarter of 2013.
The official Forza Motorsport Facebook page will have more news as Turn 10 Studios and Microsoft release future details.
Edmunds says: The last Forza game, Forza Horizon, was just an arcade spin-off from the franchise. The fifth installment of Forza Motorsport is sure to blow that title, Forza 4 and maybe even Gran Turismo 6 out of the water.
