REDMOND, Washington — Microsoft and Turn 10 Studios have released the launch trailer for Forza Motorsport 5, the latest iteration of the Forza racing video-game series set to debut for the next-generation Xbox One console.
The trailer features all in-game footage and shows off the extreme detail that went into creating the game's virtual supercars, pony cars, Formula One cars and more. Forza Motorsport 5 will ship with 14 racetracks and 200 vehicles spanning 50 manufacturers. The Spa-Francorchamps circuit and the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca are introduced in this latest installment of the racing-simulation series.
Microsoft also announced that six "Car Packs" will be offered as downloadable content. Each pack will include 10 individual cars — although each car can be purchased individually, full access to the first six packs will cost $49.99.
The LaFerrari Car Pack will be available on launch day, and, as its name suggests, features the 2014 Ferrari LaFerrari. This will be the first opportunity for fans of the hybrid hypercar to get in the virtual cockpit.
Details on the other cars in the first Car Pack will be out November 18, while Forza Motorsport 5 will be available exclusively for the Microsoft Xbox One on November 22 for $59.99.
Edmunds says: For racing video-game aficionados, it's hard not to be excited for Forza Motorsport 5.
