WOKING, England — The McLaren P1 "Designed by Air" interactive experience, the first of a two-part series detailing the British supercar's design, has debuted.

The McLaren P1 is put through its paces in a number of simulated settings, including urban, alpine, highway and track environments.

An interactive 3D model is included in the design story of the $1.15 million hyper hybrid.

The P1, which is about the same size as a Porsche 911 but is billed as the spiritual successor of the legendary McLaren F1 supercar, aims to be the best road and track car in the world for drivers.

"The Web site offers participants a detailed insight as the car is 'born' from raw metallic and carbon elements and is crafted by airflow," said McLaren in a statement on Thursday. "The journey evolves to unveil the McLaren P1 within the wind tunnel, highlighting the aerodynamic focus of the design."

As expected, the final chapter invites users to "like," share and register ahead of future updates on the car's interior and performance features.

Edmunds says: An enjoyable way to get to know the McLaren P1, especially if you're only going to experience it from your couch.
