New York — A leaked photo of the 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Sport hit the Web today ahead of the SUV's official unveil at the 2013 New York Auto Show. The vehicle was being prepped for its world debut at a local New York garage.
The undisguised Range Rover Sport revealed a front end that's closer in style to the smaller Range Rover Evoque. A laidback grille and smaller headlights give the Range Rover Sport a more dynamic look compared to the more formal, upright lines of the Range Rover flagship.
In back, the Range Rover Sport features a larger spoiler and smaller taillights than the Range Rover flagship along with a bumper cover that ends at each corner instead of wrapping around to the quarter panels.
The Range Rover Sport is expected to share most of its engine options with the larger Range Rover, but it's not clear whether the Sport will also offer the new V6 base engine that was recently added to the Range Rover's engine lineup.
Edmunds says: A sharp-looking revamp of the popular Range Rover offshoot that effectively blends the best of the Evoque and the latest flagship.
