HONG KONG — The Infiniti Q50 Eau Rouge, a Formula 1-inspired concept car, will debut at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

The concept represents Infiniti's "design vision of a high-performance variant" of the Q50, the company said. No official word yet on whether a production version of the concept is in the works, although the automaker said the concept "provides a great basis for an extreme performance version" of the Q50.

Infiniti did not disclose technical specifications of the Q50 Eau Rouge at this point.

The car is named after the famous corner of the Formula 1 track at Spa-Francorchamps.

"The Q50 Eau Rouge features aerodynamic styling treatments and design elements which are influenced by Infiniti's partnership with Formula 1 world championship-winning team Infiniti Red Bull Racing," Infiniti said in a statement on Thursday.

Edmunds says: It wouldn't be surprising to see a version of this concept in an Infiniti showroom at some point.
