COSTA MESA, California — Taking greater aim at GM's OnStar, Hyundai Motor America has announced that its Blue Link-equipped cars will come standard with three years of free Assurance Connected Care service.

Previously, a one-year service agreement was $79.

The Assurance Connected Care service includes automatic collision notification, SOS emergency assistance, enhanced roadside assistance and a monthly vehicle diagnostics report.

The service is transferable to subsequent owners within three years of the vehicle's first date of use.

Hyundai is promoting the standard service through a campaign featuring a remix of Bob Marley's song "Three Little Birds."

Edmunds says: The best minds in the business know that safety features and services should never be optional, so Hyundai appears to be on the right track with this new deal.
