DETROIT — Michael Bay has unveiled the military tactical vehicle dubbed "Hound" that will be used in Transformers 4.

Hound is described by Bay as "the always rugged and reliable Hound, one of the family of medium tactical vehicles from Oshkosh Defense."

The Hound originated in the Transformers world as a Jeep.

The one critical element that Bay has been silent on is the plot of Transformers 4.

The director has been dribbling out images of the Autobot vehicles on his Web page in recent days. Hound will join the revised Bumblebee, who transforms into a retro 1967 Chevrolet Camaro SS in the new movie. Other cars that have been confirmed for the movie are a race-inspired 2014 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the Optimus Prime Western Star truck.

Transformers 4 stars Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer. Paramount has set a June 27, 2014 release date.

Edmunds says: The excitement for Transformers 4 continues to ramp up with the rollout of an impressive vehicle lineup, including this new military vehicle.
