DETROIT — General Motors said it will launch 15 new or upgraded models in the U.S. in 2014, including the 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe and 2015 Chevrolet Colorado.

Other vehicles include the Chevrolet Silverado HD, Tahoe, Suburban, Cadillac Escalade, GMC Sierra HD, Yukon XL, Denali XL and Canyon, the automaker said.

The ambitious launch strategy follows 18 vehicle launches in 2013 in the U.S.

The 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe was one of the standouts at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

Another notable show vehicle, the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will not debut until early next year.

GM announced on Wednesday that it expects to gain "modest" U.S. market share at the retail level in 2014. The announcement was made at the Deutsche Bank 2014 Global Auto Industry Conference here.

"In 2014, our focus will remain on winning customers by delivering new vehicles with compelling value and outstanding quality," said GM President Dan Ammann in a statement.

Edmunds says: Look for lots of excitement and activity at your local GM dealerships this year.
