DEARBORN, Michigan — The Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson has been discontinued, Ford told Edmunds on Monday.

"We don't plan to offer one at this time," said Mike Levine, a Ford spokesman. "No particular reason why."

The 2013 Ford F-150 Limited, priced at $50,905, including a $995 destination charge, is the top-of-the-line F-150. The 2013 Ford F-250 Super Duty Platinum, priced at $54,235, including a $995 destination charge, is the top-of-the-line Super Duty model.

The F-150 Limited and the Super Duty Platinum are on tap for the 2014 model year, Levine said.

Ford debuted the Harley-Davidson special model in 1999 and continued it through the 2012 model year.

Automotive News reports that sales of the Harley-Davidson model accounted for just 1-2 percent of Ford's F-150 mix.

Edmunds says: It's hard to make a business case for such a low-volume model, but fans of the Ford F-150 Harley-Davidson will miss the special model.
