ORLANDO, Florida — Edmunds Price Promise, an exclusive online service that provides car shoppers with special up-front prices from participating dealers, has debuted.

Dealers enrolled in the Edmunds Price Promise program provide special upfront prices on available cars and trucks to the millions of car shoppers who use Edmunds.com every month. These prices can be viewed online only by shoppers who provide their contact information, which is immediately sent to the dealer's CRM system.

"Edmunds Price Promise tackles the No. 1 challenge that frustrates car buyers and often causes dealers to lose sales: pricing transparency," said Seth Berkowitz, president and chief operating officer of Edmunds.com. "By providing an upfront price, our dealer partners generate an immediate positive interaction with customers and quickly build a bridge of trust as they work toward a deal."

The Edmunds Price Promise debuted at the National Automotive Dealers Association Convention & Expo here. In the weeks leading up to the announcement, 46 dealers in four markets participated in Edmunds.com's pilot program. Those dealers report a 50 to 80 percent increase in leads through Edmunds.com and are from four to 10 times more likely to convert a listing into a lead.
