SANTA MONICA, California Edmunds' Car Week, which is designed to make car buying easier, kicks off today.

The event connects shoppers in Los Angeles and New York metro areas to hundreds of local dealers offering prices at or below Edmunds.com's True Market Value®, which means shoppers can save thousands off the sticker price without wasting a second on negotiating.

"No matter what they are looking for, shoppers can save thousands on their perfect car during this week-long event," said Edmunds.com Chief Executive Officer Avi Steinlauf.

The event, which runs through June 15, is patterned after Restaurant Week events that have introduced diners to local restaurants.

As part of the first-ever Car Week, Edmunds has enlisted the help of car enthusiast and comedian Adam Carolla for a launch event today at the Keyes Audi dealership in Van Nuys, California.

Carolla will participate in Edmunds' free Live Help service, which provides advice to consumers around the country as they shop for a vehicle.

Carolla and other auto experts can be reached by calling the Live Help Line at 1-855-782-4711 during Car Week from 3 p.m.- 4 p.m. Pacific Time on June 9.

Car shoppers can also connect with Edmunds' Live Help service via e-mail at help@edmunds.com or by texting their questions to ED411 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Pacific Time. This new service is being launched in time for Car Week.

Throughout Car Week, participating dealers will offer no-haggle, up-front pricing on all new-car inventory through Edmunds' Price PromiseSM program. Hundreds of dealers in the Los Angeles and New York markets will participate in Car Week.

Edmunds says: To find the full list of participating dealers, events and more information, visit Edmunds.com/carweek.
