MUNICH, Germany — BMW ConnectedDrive now includes Napster as a new music service via Online Entertainment.

BMW said Napster offers a catalog of over 20 million titles from rock, pop and soul to classical and jazz.

Connectivity from vehicle to music provider is via the car's built-in SIM card. BMW said requirements to access Napster are its ConnectedDrive Services and the BMW Navigation System Professional.

"Users accessing Online Entertainment for the first time can automatically open a user account by entering their email address," the company said in a statement on Tuesday.

"This gives a year's free access to all music titles offered by your chosen provider, such as Napster or rara."

The services and apps for BMW ConnectedDrive link buyers "with everything you consider important," BMW said.

In addition to Napster, ConnectedDrive features Yelp, Pandora and Stitcher.

Edmunds says: Music is a key part of the experience for car buyers and shoppers, as evidenced by BMW's latest connectivity move.
