GOODWOOD, England — The Bentley Continental GT3 is being teased in a new video ahead of its dynamic debut on Friday at the 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Continental GT3 will be driven in the Goodwood hill climb, according to Bentley.

The automaker's twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 engine powers the GT3. The engine is linked to a six-speed sequential racing transmission. Bentley has not yet released performance specifications for its new racer, but it says the GT3 will weigh 2,205 pounds less than the production Continental GT.

The body of the racer is almost a direct carryover from the production car, according to Bentley, but the doors, trunk lid and hood are handcrafted in carbon fiber. Other details include a carbon-fiber racing seat and rollcage.

The Bentley GT3 Concept Racer debuted at the 2012 Paris Auto Show.

In mid-June Bentley said the Continental GT3 is set to begin a test program ahead of its racing debut.

"Not one single part of the GT3 has escaped out attention and the result is a car that can compete with the field in terms of factors such as power, weight and aerodynamics," the company said in a statement.

Edmunds says: The Bentley Continental GT3's run up Goodwood hill should be one of the highlights of the event.
