2016 Dodge Dart Earns Five-Star Safety Rating From Federal Government

WASHINGTON — The 2016 Dodge Dart compact sedan earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2016 Dart earned five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

It will roll into Dodge dealerships this fall.

Standard safety equipment on the 2016 Dart includes 10 airbags, electronic stability control, antilock brakes, traction control and a rearview camera.

Optional safety equipment includes blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has not rated the 2016 Dart.

Key Dart competitors include the Chevrolet Cruze, Ford Focus and Kia Forte.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2016 Ford Focus and Kia Forte sedans also earned the highest five-star safety rating from NHTSA. The 2016 Chevrolet Cruze has not been rated.
