WASHINGTON — The 2015 Acura RDX crossover earned the highest five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The 2015 RDX received five stars in the front and side crash tests and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The rating applies to all-wheel-drive and front-wheel-drive versions of the RDX.

The 2015 RDX is on sale now.

Standard safety equipment on the RDX includes antilock brakes, six airbags and Vehicle Stability Assist with traction control.

The 2015 RDX has not been rated by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Key competitors to the RDX include the 2014-'15 Audi Q5, BMW X3 and Cadillac SRX.

Edmunds says: Car shoppers keeping score should note that the 2015 Cadillac SRX also earned the highest five-star rating, while the 2015 Audi Q5 earned a four-star overall rating. The 2015 BMW X3 has not been rated.
