AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2014 SRT Viper TA Special Edition package will carry an estimated price of $116,000, a Chrysler spokesman told Edmunds. Meanwhile, the entire 2014 SRT Viper line will get new colors and a Rain Mode for increased control on slippery surfaces.
The 2014 SRT Viper TA (for Time Attack), configured with input from professional road racers, features a mix of components from the GTS and SRT models, as well as uprated suspension, a new Brembo brake system and exclusive aerodynamic body package.
Although road-legal, the TA is especially aimed at Viper owners who like to take their cars out on the track from time to time.
While confirming the TA's estimated price tag of $116,000, Chrysler spokesman Dan Reid told Edmunds that exact pricing would be announced "by the end of the month." Pricing for the base 2014 SRT Viper starts at $103,990, including a $1,995 destination charge and $2,600 gas-guzzler tax.
Meanwhile, Chrysler has announced changes for the entire 2014 Viper line, including the new standard Rain Mode, which acts on traction and stability-control systems to make the V10-powered sports car a bit more manageable on wet or cold roads.
New colors for 2014 include Billet Silver and GTS-R Blue, both inspired by the successful SRT Viper GTS-R racecars. As a result, Shadow Blue Pearl has been eliminated from the color palette. When ordering the Anodized Carbon Special Edition package, buyers can opt for a unique matte black exterior paint treatment, while those who order the TA can select from Venom Black, Bright White and the exclusive TA Orange.
Edmunds says: A formal pricing announcement on the highly anticipated 2014 SRT Viper TA Special Edition package should be coming up shortly.
