AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — The 2014 SRT Viper gets a vividly intense shade of blue for the new model year and the Chrysler brand is turning to fans to give it a name.
The SRT Viper Color Contest debuted on Thursday. The contest participant who submits the winning name will win a trip to the 2014 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona worth $2,800. The grand-prize goodies include SRT gear and the chance to spend time with the Viper Design team.
The contest ends on October 24 and the top three color names chosen by the SRT design staff will be put to a public vote. The public voting runs from November 4-11.
"Think up a creative name that captures the essence of this non-metallic, straight-shade color," Chrysler said.
The automaker is putting a major emphasis on SRT Viper colors for the new model year. The new palette includes a Matte Black color on the GTS model as part of an Anodized Carbon Edition package. Other SRT Viper colors include Adrenaline Red and Race Yellow. The 2014 SRT Viper TA Special Edition package is available in TA Orange, Venom Black or Bright White.
Edmunds says: A little bit of brainstorming could result in a color-me-happy trip.
