2014 Nissan GT-R Previewed by Release of Japan Model

YOKOHAMA, Japan — The revisions to the Nissan GT-R were revealed in Friday's release of the new model in Japan, which gets a 2013 model year designation.

"Specifications of the U.S. market 2014 model year GT-R will be announced at a later date," said Nissan North America in a statement on Friday.

Details on the revised GT-R for the Japan market include new high-output injectors that control fuel injection and improve midrange engine response and acceleration at higher rpm, said Nissan.

The turbocharger has a new relief valve. The GT-R's suspension gets some updates and body rigidity has been increased.

The Nissan GT-R in Japan comes in three versions: Pure Edition, Black Edition and Premium Edition.

The Premium Edition gets a new two-tone interior color of Amber Red and Black. Options include a carbon-fiber rear spoiler and aluminum-alloy wheels.

Edmunds says: Nissan North America has not set a timetable for the release of pricing and other key details about the 2014 GT-R, so it's a waiting game at this point.
