WASHINGTON The 2014 Kia Sedona minivan has earned a five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The redesigned 2014 Sedona received five stars in front and side impact tests and four stars in the rollover crash test. Both LX and EX trim levels are covered under these ratings.

The 2014 Kia Sedona has not been given a rating by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety.

Six standard airbags that include full-length side curtain airbags for all three seating rows help contribute to the favorable NHTSA rating.

Kia's Sedona minivan was relaunched this year as a 2014 model with minor updates. It competes with the Honda Odyssey, Nissan Quest and Toyota Sienna.
