IRVINE, California — The revised 2014 Kia Optima starts at $22,300, including an $800 destination charge, reflecting a $150 price increase over the 2013 Optima.

The top-of-the-line 2014 Kia Optima SXL Turbo starts at $37,100, including shipping.

The 2014 Optima gets revised front and rear fascias and updated rear diffusers, along with new LED rear taillights. The cabin features new seat designs and displays. Blind spot detection is a new optional feature. It is part of the $2,000 Technology package that also bundles a navigation system with rear camera display and Sirius traffic and a back-up warning system.

Kia says the Technology package requires the $3,150 Premium package. The Premium package includes such items as a panoramic roof, heated steering wheel and power folding mirrors.

The 2014 Optima, which competes with the Ford Fusion, Honda Accord, Hyundai Sonata and Toyota Camry, debuted at the 2013 New York Auto Show.

Edmunds says: The 2014 Kia Optima comes out of the box with a modest price increase designed to keep competitors on their toes.
