IRVINE, California — The Kia Forte commercial for the 2013 Super Bowl has all the makings of an inside joke, as a dorky and disrespectful reporter at a press unveiling provokes the wrath of a sexy robot.

The commercial underscores the Forte's high-tech features and features former Miss USA Alyssa Campanella as a robot.

The robot, decked out in stiletto heels and a tight-fitting dress, throws the reporter into a wall after he smears his fingers along the Forte's windows and breathes heavily on a window. The public never gets to witness the bad behavior of the media at auto show unveilings, but for Kia, it's clearly payback time.

"Respect the tech," is the commercial's tagline.

"The all-new 2014 Kia Forte is designed for those who love technology," said Kia in a text message that accompanies the video. "And nobody loves technology more than sexy high-tech robots. Watch as our two beautiful hotbots unveil the new Forte at a press event. Things take an unexpected turn after one reporter gets a little too close to their prized possession. Let's just say he learns an important lesson: Always respect the tech."

The 2014 Kia Sorento will also make an appearance in a 2013 Super Bowl advertisement with a sweeter twist. The "Space Babies" ad attempts to answer the question of "where do babies come from?"

Edmunds says: The only problem with the Kia Hotbots ad is that the joke may be lost on anyone who's never witnessed the scrum after a vehicle unveiling.
