Jaguar is beefing up its R performance lineup with the 2014 XJR. A single image of the car appears to show some trim and badging changes.
The company describes the XJR as an "extraordinarily opulent machine with more than expected levels of interior luxury." It said the car's steering, suspension and braking enhancements have been tested at the company's Nurburgring Test Center.
"The Jaguar XJR is a British performance machine that delivers emotionally and dynamically on the road and on the track," said Andy Goss, president of Jaguar Land Rover North America, in a statement on Wednesday.
Jaguar Land Rover did not immediately return phone calls from Edmunds asking for more details about the XJR.
Edmunds says: Jaguar appears to be betting heavily on its R lineup.
