TORRANCE, California — The base 2014 Honda CR-Z starts at $20,785, including a $790 destination charge, reflecting a $20 price increase over the 2013 model, but the top-of-the-line 2014 CR-Z gets a $185 price hike.

The top-of-the-line 2014 Honda CR-Z EX with navigation starts at $24,780, including shipping.

The midlevel 2014 Honda CR-Z EX starts at $22,630, including shipping, also reflecting a $185 price increase over the 2013 model.

The base 2013 Honda CR-Z starts at $20,765, including a $790 destination charge.

The 2014 CR-Z is a carryover model. The car was redesigned last year.

The 2014 CR-Z is more expensive than its chief Korean rival, the 2013 Hyundai Veloster. The base 2013 Veloster starts at $18,395, including a $795 destination charge. The automaker has not posted 2014 Veloster pricing.

The CR-Z is also more expensive than its chief Japanese competitor, the 2014 Scion tC. The base 2014 Scion tC starts at $19,965, including a $755 destination charge.

But the 2014 Volkswagen Beetle, another CR-Z competitor, is just a few dollars more expensive than the 2014 CR-Z. The base 2014 Volkswagen Beetle 2.5L starts at $20,815, including an $820 destination charge.

Edmunds says: The base 2014 CR-Z gets a minuscule price increase, while the top-of-the-line model gets a slightly more sizable one.
