WASHINGTON The 2014 Chrysler Town & Country minivan earned a four-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

Five stars is the highest rating.

The Chrysler Town & Country earned four stars in the front crash test, five stars in the side crash test and four stars in the rollover crash test.

The Chrysler Town & Country earned "good" scores in all Insurance Institute for Highway Safety crash tests, including the moderate front overlap crash test. The forces in the test are similar to those that would result from a frontal offset crash between two vehicles of the same weight, each going just under 40 mph.

Standard safety features on the Chrysler Town & Country include a rear back-up camera, side curtain airbags for all three rows, a driver-side inflatable knee blocker, electronic stability control and traction control.

Optional on Touring and standard on Touring-L and Limited models is the SafetyTec Group consisting of rain-sensitive windshield wipers, auto high-beam headlamps, ParkSense rear park assist system, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection.

Edmunds says: For car shoppers keeping score, the 2014 Honda Odyssey, Kia Sedona and Toyota Sienna earned the top five-star overall safety rating. The 2014 Nissan Quest has not been rated.
