2014 Chevrolet SS Recalled for Windshield Wiper Problem

DETROIT — General Motors is recalling 4,794 2014 Chevrolet SS sport sedans and 2013-'14 Chevrolet Caprice police cars in the U.S. because the windshield wipers may not operate, the automaker said on Friday.

"If the motor gear teeth become stripped, the wipers may not operate," GM said in a statement.

Chevrolet dealers will replace the windshield wiper module assembly.

GM said it is not aware of any crashes or injuries related to the recall.

No information about the recall has been posted on the Web site of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle recalls in the U.S.

No date has been set for the recall. Owners can contact Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020.
