OLD LYME, Connecticut — Callaway Cars makes some of the highest-performance Corvette conversions around, and the tuner has now released a supercharger kit for 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and 2014 GMC Sierra pickup trucks.
The Callaway packages start at $17,395 and are made exclusively for the 5.3-liter V8 version of the Silverado and Sierra that were completely redesigned for the 2014 model year. Supercharger systems for the 6.2-liter 2014 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra will be introduced later this year.
The Callaway kit includes an Eaton TVS supercharger, hardware and a recalibrated electronic powertrain-management system. Output figures have not been released, but buyers can expect around 450 horses or a 25 percent increase from the standard 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque.
Development has begun for a variety of other modifications like suspension components, wheels, brake systems and interior upgrades.
Authorized dealers are taking orders for the 5.3-liter 2014 Callaway Silverado and 2014 Callaway Sierra Crew Cab now, with extended and standard cab models coming soon.
Edmunds says: Although the 5.3-liter package is impressive, the real beast will be the 6.2-liter kit.
