BRENTWOOD, England — The 2013 Ford Fiesta Van debuted on Thursday in Europe, but Ford told Edmunds there are no plans to bring the vehicle to the U.S.

"No plans for the Fiesta Van in the U.S.," wrote Said Deep, a Ford spokesman, in response to an e-mailed query from Edmunds.

The two-seater model skips the rear bench seat of the hatchback to create a cargo-hold area for commercial customers. Ford described the Fiesta Van as a "stylish mobile workshop for light-duty tools and equipment."

It goes on sale in January.

Powertrain choices include two diesel engines and one gasoline engine. Technology features include Ford Sync with Emergency Assistance, Active City Stop and Ford MyKey.

Edmunds says: You'll have to admire this version of the 2013 Ford Fiesta from afar.
