AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Chrysler is recalling 14,800 2013 Dodge Darts worldwide to fix a problem that causes some cars to stall after start-up, the automaker said on Monday.

The cars are being recalled to recalibrate their powertrain control modules.

"Internal testing discovered a car that stalled moments after start-up," said Chrysler in a statement posted on its Web site. "The incident occurred when the vehicle was brought to a stop after driving a short distance. It had been parked for eight hours in a 20F climate chamber. Further investigation revealed reports of similar incidents recorded by dealers.

The recall affects only 2013 Dodge Darts equipped with a 1.4-liter engine and dual-clutch transmission.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, which oversees vehicle recalls in the U.S., has not posted any information about the recall on its Web site.

Dodge dealers will recalibrate the powertrain control modules on the affected vehicles. Chrysler has not set a date for the recall. Owners can contact Chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

Edmunds says: Chrysler said customers will be contacted directly as soon as a formal recall date is set.
