WASHINGTON — Lamborghini is recalling 144 2012 Lamborghini Aventadors because of a headlight problem that could blind oncoming traffic, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"The affected vehicles may have headlights that can be aimed horizontally but not vertically," said NHTSA in its summary of the problem. "An incorrect headlamp aim could reduce the driver's visibility and possibly blind oncoming traffic. Either condition may increase the risk of (a) crash."

The affected Aventadors were built from July 15, 2011 through April 20, 2012.

Lamborghini dealers will enable the vertical aiming and disable the horizontal aiming of the headlights. The recall is expected to begin on December 17. Owners can contact Lamborghini at 1-866-681-6276.

Edmunds says: If you own a 2012 Lamborghini Aventador this is something that sounds like a relatively quick fix that can be done next week.
