WASHINGTON — Ford is recalling 4,532 2011 Ford E-150, E-250, E-350 and E-450 vans because bubbles in the windshield may hinder the driver's vision, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

"Due to improper manufacturing conditions, some of the windshields may form bubbles after an extended time in hot temperatures," said NHTSA in its summary of the problem.

"The presence of bubbles may hinder driver's visibility, thereby increasing the risk of a crash."

Kelli Felker, a Ford spokeswoman, told Edmunds that no injuries or crashes have been linked to the recall.

Ford dealers will replace the windshield if bubbles are present. The recall is expected to begin on January 27. Owners can contact Ford at (866) 436-7332.

Edmunds says: If you own one of the aforementioned Ford vans and you see bubbles in the windshield, get the vehicle in for service once you receive your recall notice.
