What's New for 2013
The 2013 Cadillac XTS is an all-new model.
Introduction
Cadillac looks to extend its youthful style and cachet into the upper reaches of its lineup with the 2013 Cadillac XTS. Evolving from the XTS Platinum concept shown at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show, the XTS is based on the same platform as the front-wheel-drive Buick LaCrosse and will replace the DTS and STS sedans.
The five-passenger sedan is powered by a direct-injection 3.6-liter V6 mated to a six-speed automatic with "tap shift" controls. The V6 delivers 300 horsepower and 264 pound-feet of torque, while returning an estimated 28 highway mpg for the standard front-drive model. All-wheel drive will also be available.
Outside, the XTS reflects Cadillac's current styling theme with its prominent grille and overhangs, vertical headlights and taillights, and sharp surface lines. Within the refined wood- and aluminum-accented cabin is a high-tech user-configurable multimedia system called CUE (Cadillac User Experience). Like MyFord Touch, CUE minimizes buttons and switches and instead uses a 12-inch touch-sensitive display and center stack to control navigation, connected apps (like Pandora) and climate systems. The 2013 XTS will also feature advanced safety technology including adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, forward collision alert, blind spot detection, rear cross-traffic alert and a head-up display.
The 2013 Cadillac XTS is set to arrive at dealers in the spring of 2012. Check back later for more information on pricing, driving impressions and buying advice as it becomes available.
