| Test Driver Ratings & Comments |
| Acceleration comments | Power braking gets the SRX out of the hole a little bit quicker, but it must be left in Drive. Manual shifting doesn't work, because the tach doesn't keep up. After bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st gear, I went back to D. |
| Braking rating | Very good |
| Braking comments | Very good pedal feel and respectable stopping distance. (We got a "brake overheat" warning during acceleration runs, but performance never diminished.) |
| Handling rating | Good |
| Handling comments | Skid pad: Moderate load-up from wheel; feedback's a little springy. Precise steering, but can also adjust line with throttle. Good balance with stability control off. With stability control on, the car chops throttle, so it's foot on the floor all the way around. Slalom: Good turn-in; some delay but not much. The rear eventually walks around in transition, but not dangerously. With stability control on, its subtle brake application works well to tuck the nose in at each cone. The system is very well calibrated. |
