Hello tomy3 I have a 2007 SRX and recently had some of the same problems. Oddly, I had just picked my car up from the dealer for another matter when my check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. I just picked up my 2008 SRX which had been disabled and in the shop for about three weeks. It turns out that the diagnosis went from timing chain, to broken valve spring to crankshaft (some type of ring on the front of the shaft). While I have not had major engine issues with my 04 V8 I have had every manner of other issues. The response I got from GM was that they would fix it under the terms of the warranty. They have showed no consideration whatsoever for my time or the aggravation caused to my wife and I. Our Cadillac ownership experience has been poor and I will never buy another GM product ... My 2008 SRX (V-6) became disabled last week. The car suddenly stated running very rough, including knocking and pre-ignition backfire. Had it towed to dealer. First report was that it was a timing chain problem. Once that was replaced car still ran rough and they determined that a valve spring in the #1 cylinder was broken. Over the years I have read, but not posted to this forum. Now that the SRX has been sold, I feel compelled to put in my two cents worth. Ours was a 2004 SRX AWD V6 with Luxury Performance Package. In other words it had every available option except the V8 engine. It was purchased in December 2004 and sold in June 2008 with 60,000 miles and a stack of Cadillac repair orders. ... Read More...

The dealers service mgr and the owner of the dealership even wrote letters to the high ups at Cady, my dealer got some action with them sending "noise and vibration engineers, drove from Michigan Proving Grounds, we did the same thing tires/wheels (was Michelin and now Michelin), computer tuning, rear end and it still vibrates at 40+. the guys went back to Michigan ... GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Cadillac SRX V6 with 12,000 miles per year are 4.0% and 64%, respectively. According to the latest information that I have seen, GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Cadillac SRX with 12,000 miles per year are 4.0% and 55%, respectively.
