Re: SRX fixed-Great Cadillac Service & Support [tomy3]

So, how has the Cadi been since the repairs? I received the terrible word yesterday that the timing chain and crankshaft need to be replaced in my 2008. I have only owned this vehicle for 6 months (purchased used with 19,000 miles). I thought I was making a good desicion to purchase this vehicle when my 2005 Durango constantly stalled while driving and the dealer could not fix it. I think ... Read More

Hello tomy3 I have a 2007 SRX and recently had some of the same problems. Oddly, I had just picked my car up from the dealer for another matter when my check engine light came on for the 2nd time in 2 weeks. I contacted ONSTAR, and while I was driving they were able to tell me that there is open GM bulletin on this car that affects the timing chain ... Read More

SRX fixed-Great Cadillac Service & Support
Written by: tomy3 on Sep 26, 2008 4:48:37 PM
I just picked up my 2008 SRX which had been disabled and in the shop for about three weeks. It turns out that the diagnosis went from timing chain, to broken valve spring to crankshaft (some type of ring on the front of the shaft). Bottom line..Cadillac decided to replace the engine rather than risk more problems and a longer wait. The car is only four months old and has only ... Read More

While I have not had major engine issues with my 04 V8 I have had every manner of other issues. The response I got from GM was that they would fix it under the terms of the warranty. They have showed no consideration whatsoever for my time or the aggravation caused to my wife and I. Our Cadillac ownership experience has been poor and I will never buy another GM product ... 2008 SRX Major Engine
Written by: tomy3 on Sep 15, 2008 12:59:04 PM
My 2008 SRX (V-6) became disabled last week. The car suddenly stated running very rough, including knocking and pre-ignition backfire. Had it towed to dealer. First report was that it was a timing chain problem. Once that was replaced car still ran rough and they determined that a valve spring in the #1 cylinder was broken. Once that was fixed, they test drove the vehicle at which time the "check engine" ... Read More

Re: help w/lease pricing [hamom]

Hello hamom. This vehicle's lease payment will vary depending upon what its MSRP and selling price are. You never mentioned either of these numbers in your post, so I will have to make some assumptions to work up a sample lease payment for you. For now I will assume that you want to lease a 2008 Cadillac SRX V6 with the Luxury Package that has an MSRP of $42,265 and a ... Read More

Hey sheepdog1. You must have liked your last SRX if you are in the market for a new one. One of my relatives has one and they really like it. GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 24 month lease of a 2008 Cadillac SRX V6 with 12,000 miles per year are 4.0% and 64%, respectively. The numbers for an otherwise identical 39 month lease are 4.0% and ... Read More

Hey tcw1965. According to the latest information that I have seen, GMAC's current base lease rate and residual value for a 36 month lease of a 2008 Cadillac SRX with 12,000 miles per year are 4.0% and 55%, respectively. I believe that GM is only providing $950 lease cash on this model right now, but it did introduce an additional $500 owner loyalty cash on leases of it this month. Car_man ... Read More

Hi polara60. I believe that General Motors is currently providing $2,500 dealer cash on the 2008 Cadillac SRX. This cash incentive is available to all dealers, regardless of what part of the country they are in. Unfortunately, I do not think that it is compatible with GMAC's special lease program. You can only get it on SRX models that you pay cash for, finance through GMAC, or finance through an independent ... Read More

Hi surviveone. A selling price of $2,000 under dealer invoice is an excellent deal on a lease of a 2008 Cadillac SRX. This is below dealer invoice, even after taking the $1,450 lease cash that GM is providing on this model into account. Just make sure that the dealer that you are working with uses GMAC's current base lease rate of 4.0% to calculate your monthly payment and you're all set. ... Read More

Hi stevef5. I don't believe that you need any certificate to take advantage of the offer that you saw advertised. GM is currently running a $1,000 conquest cash promotion on the 2008 and 2007 Cadillac SRX. This incentive is available to current owners and lessees of any non-GM vehicle. Hi Mick. The lease rate and cash incentives that you were quoted for this vehicle are right in line with General Motors' current promotions for it. This is a good sign. In an area that has a decent level of competition like the one that you are in, I personally would shoot for a selling price of $500 to $1,000 over invoice before the deduction of the cash incentives.
