So, how has the Cadi been since the repairs? I received the terrible word yesterday that the timing chain and crankshaft need to be replaced in my 2008. I have only owned this vehicle for 6 months (purchased used with 19,000 miles). I would not plan a long trip in it for a while. The long term test report that was in Car & Driver was the November 2005 issue, which you may be able to find at a public library. Their story is as follows: Soon after they got their 2004 SRX, staff members took it on a trip. So the problem is the same thing over and over. That does not seem good for the longer run. Are they getting any help from Cadillac's headquarters? Have they replaced the main computer? I know that Car & Driver had a recurrent problem with their long term test SRX in 2004 that was fixed when the computer was finally replaced. Is the dealer willing to stand behind the ... The 20 inch wheels are a new for 2007 option. The 2004, 2005 and 2006 models only offered 18 inch wheels. I don't know what kind of warranty the wheel dealer included, but these wheels probably could invalidate the Cadillac warranty if they cause any damage to your SRX. Read More...

I'm presently considering a used 2005 Cadillac SRX (a loaded v8 with AWD) that's got ~35,000miles on it. I like the styling and the ride. I own an 2005 SRX with 18 inch wheels...I too wanted the 255s all around........the 255s fit in front no problem... The dealer did not recommend as it would put unnecessary stress on the front end and may cause hydroplaning in extreme conditions.......and if 255s in front caused any damage or premature wear the warranty would not cover... I bought my 2005 SRX AWD last year (2006) for $24,900. It's fully loaded, third row seating, GPS, performance package, magnetic ride, DVD entertainment, along with the totally rockin' sunroof!!
