I took my 2004 SRX to a Cadillac dealer and they could not find any codes in the computer. Drove the car to 50 miles and could not reproduce the problem. I showed them this discussion thread and I asked them to replace the Steering Wheel Sensor. A day after the sensor was repaced the problem came back. Over the years I have read, but not posted to this forum. Now that the SRX has been sold, I feel compelled to put in my two cents worth. Ours was a 2004 SRX AWD V6 with Luxury Performance Package. I would not plan a long trip in it for a while. The long term test report that was in Car & Driver was the November 2005 issue, which you may be able to find at a public library. Their story is as follows: Soon after they got their 2004 SRX, staff members took it on a trip. So the problem is the same thing over and over. That does not seem good for the longer run. Are they getting any help from Cadillac's headquarters? Have they replaced the main computer? I know that Car & Driver had a recurrent problem with their long term test SRX in 2004 that was fixed when the computer was finally replaced. Is the dealer willing to stand behind the ... Jim Coleman Cadillac in Bethesda have replaced the mass air flow system and the alternator. They have checked the started and the fuel pump and they said that it is ok. The 20 inch wheels are a new for 2007 option. The 2004, 2005 and 2006 models only offered 18 inch wheels. I don't know what kind of warranty the wheel dealer included, but these wheels probably could invalidate the Cadillac warranty if they cause any damage to your SRX. Read More...

Just stumbled on this thread - sorry for the delay. We had this problem with our 2004 SRX as well. It was fixed immediately by the folks at Gold Coast Cadillac in Oakhurst, NJ. Problem as I recall was a broken STEERING WHEEL sensor. The sensor detected the steering wheel turning differently than the wheels, so the Stability System engaged. (Or so my memory recollects ...
