Review

I've had to make lots of repairs to my 1991 Cadillac Seville for a car with 125,000 miles. The fuel injectors went out @ 120,000 miles..$1,200. I replaced front strutswent at @ 11,0000 miles-$400. The exhaust went bad @ 122,000 miles - $250. The driver's side power window is not working - not repaired. The rear speakers blew @ 115,000 miles - not repaired. The rear air ride shocks are leaking - not repaired. The interior is cracking on door the panels and arm rest. It gets poor gas milage - 13.5 in city.

Favorite Features

Good power and torque from the motor when running properly. Good in snow with front wheel drive. Floats down the highway. Solid exterior body.

Suggested Improvements

Better gas milage. Parts are very expensive for this vehicle. don't buy this year of Cadillac used unless you have the bank accout to fix all the problems that come along with it.

After 168k miles, she's still kickin'. Boasty v8, great ride and roomy for a mid-size. Interior starting to show it's mileage. All in all... very pleased with my first caddy.

Favorite Features

healthy v8, feels like more than 200bhp.

Suggested Improvements

Interior fit & finish.

Review

At 175,000 miles, everything that can go wrong on this car has gone wrong. The brakes, the bearings, the speedometer, the whole electronical system all have gone out. I currently have 17 oil leaks and counting. I do not suggest buying this car unless you have a bank account with this car's name on it. Every repair is very expensive, just to change the 8 spark plugs its $300.00!!(In Florida)

Favorite Features

Interior very comfy, very roomy. Lots of trunk space, alot of power.Very sturdy body.

Suggested Improvements

More reliable engine/parts.

Review

This is the only year that the small Seville had the 4.9 liter HO engine. It's a BMW killer -- which in an older Cadillac is a real surprise. It accelerates faster than the 3 series Beemers, and corners extremely agressively -- with its speed sensitive steering and shock rate, the car becomes a demon on the corners when pushed hard. Reliability has been outstanding, although fit and finish in these Cadillacs is only average -- not up to the standards of Lexus or Mercedes. Major components -- engine, transmission, AC -- keep on working. At 161k miles, it's still going strong.

Favorite Features

Engine. The 4.9 liter HO is an outstanding piece of engineering.

Suggested Improvements

Fit and finish aren't up to the standards of even Ford's products -- let alone the luxury Japanese or German cars -- and most of it can be seen as sloppy workmanship, not engineering or design. Shame on the UAW.
