2004 Cadillac Escalade EXT 4dr Crew Cab AWD (6.0L 8cyl 4A)

Review

This SUT has the confort of a luxury sedan, the space of an SUV and the practicality of a truck. Kudos to the designers a GMC/Cadillac. I couldn't be happier with my decision.

Favorite Features

The rear bumper parking radar. PArallel parking and backing in to spaces would be very difficult without it.

Suggested Improvements

Perhaps an electronic rear window instead of a removable one.

Review

Cadillac has done wonders with a "heavy half ton truck". Despite all of its power and luxury items, it is still a truck. I knew I wasn't buying a DeVille, but the ride and handling are great for this size vehicle. I have been a Suburban owner for many years and now have found a great vehicle to haul big things and people in style. I don't plan on screwing up the ride, handling or looks by putting on those stupid looking 20" wheels. I can think of 100 better things to do with that $6000. The looks are great,it makes the Avalanch look like it was exposed to nuclear fallout.

Favorite Features

Looks, power, ride and handling. It fits in at the country club and Home Depot equally well.

Suggested Improvements

Loose the Bulgari clock. Add gas cylinders to the tailgate, it's too heavy for the women. Put assist steps in the bumper to help get up into the bed. The step up to the top of the bumper is a long one. The console is not very functional.

hey i stayed away from cadillac for over twenty years since they stopped the 79 seville and went to la la land building cadillacs so i went to mercedes benz and after five benzs later i came back to cadillac now i can finally say what my father said in the sixties with his cadillacs he owned he told people who didnt drive a cadillac but other brands of cars he would say IT ISNT NO CADILLAC lol to the none cadillac drivers who tried to say there car was as good

Favorite Features

the interior is great but they got cheap on the wood trim i had to buy the aftermart kit to finish the look

Suggested Improvements

hey put the accesory outlets under the dash not wear you have to open doors to keep the cord in the outlet like the console or ash tray keep the look inside clean and smooth dont let it look like you got things plugged in the mudguards for rear poor finish

from the service at the front to the wheeling and dealing at the end we weren't very pleased with any of it. we bought it b/c my wife really wanted a truck of her own. now we are very disappointed with not only the service at time of sale, but also the truck itself. i have since been in the market to buy a SUV for myself and i've looked more closely at the bulkiness of the vehicles in test-drives. the cadi definately isn't what it used to be. we will never buy one again. thanks!

Favorite Features

the gadgets in the front are nice and the leather is very plush.

Suggested Improvements

gas mileage, "going to flip" feeling going around curves, sales presentation is poor and confusing, a "gone overboard with practical" practical truck.

Review

The "bigness" of the vehicle is a desireable feature -- not only the numerical dimensions, but the sense of a very comfortable "room on wheels." Greatest crossover for the tall driver. Its hauling capacity, both internal size, convenience and ease of space expansion, but also its towing muscle. Quiet as an ES300 (Lexus) and easy to control in snow and ice -- and off road. We'd do it again, despite the high price tag

Favorite Features

The "feel" of a luxury vehicle, towing capacity, hauling convenience, 345 h.p., backup sensors, OnStar safety, variable 4-wheel drive (Stabilitrack), full passenger capacity, recessed rear wincow, engineering perfection

Suggested Improvements

Tailgate dropdown needs vacuum assist -- WAY too heavy for one arm; Slim down the steering wheel -- too difficult to see dash; Separate the control knobs for CD, radio, cassette player, OnStar service, and Stabilitrack modifier.

Review

I've owned Toyota Land Cruiser, Lexus LX 470 previously as my SUV.... I wouldn't trade my Escalade EXT for either of them! Just finished a 850 mile road trip from New Orleans to North Carolina... The truck is a road warrior.... Very comfortable and powerful... Average fuel economy at 85mph cruise on interstates was 15.5mpg... Comparable to my previous SUVs...Have XM radio...love it. Navigation...great. Installed aftermarket (looks factory installed) in-roof DVD player for my boys... This truck is a head turner and a joy to drive and own.

Favorite Features

XM Satellite Radio... Luxurious comfortable interior... Powerful V8 (I've had underpowered SUV and that is miserable)...

Suggested Improvements

Handling feels "sloppy"/loose on the road.... Turning radius a bit large.
