Can GM make Cadillac the standard of the world Again?

Re: Stop!!! [62vetteefp]

Six months ago Cadillac was not on my radar screen. I am in the market for a newer SUV. I am tired of getting in and out of my wife's LS400. It is a nice car and we will keep it. We want something newer for taking trips in. My wife leans toward the Mercedes as she owned several and liked them. I am not wanting to deal with the local MB dealer. Also not sure of the cost for long ... Read More...

Re: Cadillac product at both ends [62vetteefp]

In spite of the popularity of the newly designed Escalade. It has some slick features for sure. I do not think it will be as popular as the last generation. UNLESS they go back to the seats that are the standard of comfort in a luxury vehicle. Just read the reviews here on Edmund's the number one complaint is the rock hard seats. Most by repeat buyers that were familiar ... Read More...

Are the 2007 models as good as the 2006?

I just went in to my local Cadillac dealer. Real nice salesman. Went through all the finer points of the SRX and Escalade. I am in agreement with several owners of the new Escalade. The seats are TOO hard. The 2007 Escalade has some great features and drives like a dream car. The SRX has the neatest moonroof. Opens up way back. The SRX felt a bit cramped to me. Not what ... Re: The Standard of the World? [nvbanker]

CR's recent survey of 1.3 million cars belonging to subscribers give Cadillac pretty bad marks for reliability, sad to say: However, please note some of the other $$$ cars on the same list before you cry "bias"! Least reliable Vehicles listed in scoring order, starting with the worst score. SMALL CARS: Chevrolet Cobalt, Nissan Sentra (2006), Volkswagen Jetta ... Read More...

Re: . [tlong]

I am a Caddy fan, and I agree with your assessment 95%. Yes, German cars offer advanced technology and refined ride, but are less reliable. The "bells & whistles" make German cars desirable even if reliability is below par. Lets not forget the Germans have lost some of their customer base to Lexus. In 1989 Mercedes & BMW pretty much owned the Luxury segment, and ... Read More...

I think that the SRX makes more sense than the Escalade. The Escalade is more or less the same as the GMC Denali. The SRX is all Cadillac, but perhaps a bit smaller than most would want. There seem to be more 2007 program Escalades than 2006's. Read More...

I recently saw a sale in the newspaper for 2006 leftovers for that same price. You may want to check that out. I foresee them offering the old models at a more discounted price seen they revamped the 2007 model. Read More...

Ooops, I Should Have Never Gone To See the GL 450

Ooops, I Should Have Never Gone To See the GL 450 by sfleming Jun 13, 2006 I was really jazzed on an '07 Escalade for the wife and I was going to get an EXT in a couple months. We've waited an extra year to replace our outdated rides for the new engine, tranny and style on the "07. Then we heard about the Mercedes GL 450. First I went to see it and was pretty impressed. I feared ... Read More...

2006 Escalade

Car_man, I interested in purchasing a 2006 Cadillac Escalade the base model 2WD/Black Raven. The dealer quoted me a price of $45,000 after all the rebates w/ a MSRP $54,725. This price seems a little to good to be true is their something I'm missing. Consumer Reports bottom line price is $43,570. Could there be hidden profits I don't know about? Should I except ...
