Hello, I am new to this forum. I am the owner of a 2006 Escalade. I am currently experiencing starting problems where you turn the ignition and engine does not fire or turn. However, I have read several postings on this forum and other respective forums related to starting issues. My wife was driving the SUV throughout the day and did not experience any problems with the vehicle starting or handling ... Read More
Her is some interesteing data from July 2007. According to the industry examiners at CNW Research, Cadillac’s fortunes appear to be slipping away at the margins. In the firm’s July installment of their Retail Automotive Summary, their Aspirational Index (which judges a brand’s attractiveness to consumers) reveals that Cadillac’s rising star is beginning to falter. In the mid-Nineties, the marque rated only a 4 on a 10 point scale. With the ... Read More

Whenever I had my 2002 Cadillac Seville STS in for extended service, my dealer usually gave me a Cadillac loaner. I once had a new 2005 CTS for an entire weekend and I took it to Macungie. I usually got a DeVille. Heck, I wouldn't mind it if they gave me an XLR or Escalade just for once.

But lately we have noticed that some of the GM cars are looking pretty impressive, namely the Cadillac CTS, Chevy Malibu, GMC Acadia, Saturn Vue, Saturn Outlook, Saturn Aura, Buick Enclave. Also some of the Fords look good, like the Ford Edge, Ford Fusion, Lincoln MKZ, Mercury Milan. I agree completely Americans are starting to build better vehicles, The only 2 American cars that I would ever purchase would be the ... Read More

You need to read the original post again, the average buyer age data is from 2005 (the most recent that I can found) but the IS and CTS owner age breakdowns are for 2008 model. Just in Case you missed it I'll post again. JD Power Model Age Profile (all 2008 models except the Lexus LS which is 2007): Cadillac CTS: Ages 16-35 - 12% Ages 36-55 - 34% Ages 56+ ... Read More

what do numbers from 2005 have to do with the 2008 CTS which has been on sale since August? If you read some of the consumer reviews on Edmunds you will see that many of the people who have commented cross-shopped and/or owned import luxury brands. Not sure what that says about their age but I suspect its a sign that they are younger than typical Caddy buyers. The other thing ... Read More

I recently saw a sale in the newspaper for 2006 leftovers for that same price. You may want to check that out. I foresee them offering the old models at a more discounted price seen they revamped the 2007 model.
2005 Cadillac Escalade - Dealership Left Over
Written by: jbratx on Aug 18, 2006 9:09:29 PM
CarMan, I recently visited and Cadillac dealership and I checked out an 05 Cadillac Escalade with the PDC package (Chrome Rims/Navigation/Sun Roof). The MSRP is $58,150 and they offered the car to me for $43,000 (taxes and licensing not included). I'm unable to tell if this is a good deal because it's a leftover. Is there a formula for being able to determine how much to pay for a dealer left ... Read More
We were recently in the market for a full size Luxury UTE. We evaluated the Navigator, the Escalade, the QX56, and the Yukon Denali. We really liked the QX56 -- but I have to be honest -- the horror stories posted on the QX56 forum kept us away. We loved the space inside the vehicle -- 2nd row space is incredible. The fold down rear seats, the silky smooth power, great ... Read More

Steve, I sure had interest in the 2003 Escalade ESV last year but I decided to keep my Mercedes ML500 another year. I even thought about the 2004, but now, the 2005's are here and the body style will change soon. I guess I'll keep driving my ML, most likly, for even another year until the warranty expires. At this point, I wouldn't buy the current Escalade, I would wait ... Read More
I am looking to buy a new (probably 2005) Escalade and I live in Florida and have no use for 4 wheel drive. Are you saying "there is no comparison in the ride"? Also, you said the 2wd should not bear the Cadillac name. Please elaborate.

2005 Cadillac Escalade gets upgraded OnStar Gen IV and totally revamped interior to differentiate it from the other trucks in the GM family built on the same platform.
The M-Class does deliver advanced engineering and technology at an affordable price, but it has lessened the value of the Mercedes star. As a current Mercedes owner, I tried hard to make myself like the M-Class, but to no avail. Plain and simple, the M-Class is a lemon. It's build quality is worse than an Isuzu Rodeo - Check Consumer Reports. I know you referenced comparison tests on SUV's and the ... Read More
