    Definetly get it checked out before you purchase a model. When it comes to the 2002 cadillac escalade seriously don't waist your time to many issues...possibly not at first when you buy it..but eventually you will be better off NOT buying a cadillac escalade!

    I also had a problem with the brakes on my 2002 Escalade. The front speed sensors get corroded by the salt that is put on the roads to melt the snow. They need to be taken out and cleaned or replaced with new ones. There is a recall, but for some reason the '02 Escalade is not on it, so you will have to pay for it yourself. I tried to ...     I believe they will. They can't do otherwise. Cadillac's comeback is a long arduous road. I believe it began as far back as 1989 when they lengthened the diminutive FWD C-bodies to the point they at least looked presentable. Then the 1992 Seville and Eldorado really got the ball rolling.     Whenever I had my 2002 Cadillac Seville STS in for extended service, my dealer usually gave me a Cadillac loaner. I once had a new 2005 CTS for an entire weekend and I took it to Macungie. I usually got a DeVille. Heck, I wouldn't mind it if they gave me an XLR or Escalade just for once.

    James, I wouldn't say the Escalade is "so outdated" compared to it's rivals. The Escalade is a truck, built on a truck chassis. It has a wonderful towing capacity compared to the German, Swedish, Japanese rivals. What is so bad about the interior?? To me, most GM dash boards are "too" plasticy, which makes it look cheap.
