What did you do to fix this problem? We have 1 low beam that keeps going out. Thanks.
I have a 2000 Cadillac since new. I never had any problems with the truck until recently. When the brakes are cold in the front at low speeds the brakes will lock up or are extremely sensitive. However, once the brakes warm up they function fine. I brought it to the dealer and they can't figure out the problem but they they have stated that there is a problem. I just ... Read More
My 2000 Escalade's low beams work as running lights however, when the twilight function turns on the headlights, the low beams don't work. I have to use the highbeams to drive at night.
I was thinking about buying a 2000 cadillac escalade 4x4 as my first vehicle. what are a few things i should look out for? it's going for 7000 it has * AMFM Radio * CD Player * Power Windows * Power Locks * Power Mirrors * Power Seats * Leather * Roof Rack * Cruise Control * Tinted Windows * Running Boards * Dual Airbags * Alloy Wheels * Keyless Entry ... I just came from my Cadillac dealer and got the following #'s and want to know what you guys think. MSRP: 62475 Cap Cost: 58,840 (GMS pricing) Cap Cost Reduction (GM loyalty discount): 1850 Interest Rate: 7.15 Sales Tax: 7% I calculated the following prices for a 12,000 miles/year lease with no money down (just paying first payment, bank fees, motor vehicle fees, etc. up front - probably just under $2000): ... Im going to be buying a cadillac in the next week. i got a really good deal on an escalade and i want to know how reliable they are. First of all im 19, money isnt thin, but i dont want to spend an unreasonable amount on maintenance and all. I can get a 2000 Escalade with 60k miles for $13k with a 1 year warranty. Is it worth it and ... Read More
it sounds like that car was in an accident prior to you buying it, you should have done a vin # background check on that car.
Hey I have a 2000 cadillac escalade and it does the same thing. Did you happen to fix yours already. I hit the gas and it doesn't move i even changed the catalytic converters thinking it was clogged. Can anyone help me?
I like my GMC PU steering wheel. Put over 2000 miles sitting behind it last week and did not get fatiqued. Or tired of selecting music with all the buttons. I guess I better check out the Range Rover. I just read all the horror stories and wrote them off. I drove the ML500 and the X5, both of which are very nice. I liked the roomy feel of the Escalade ... Read More
did you ever find out what the problem was? My 2000 caddy dies if I don't drive it for 3 days, something is draining my battery. Any ideas?rebeccaf
chevy598, You do make a great argument. I agree the build materials of a Cadillac, isn't quite as good as say a typical Mercedes. I will also say I've seen some MB's with some shoddy material quality issues myself. I believe it was in the early 2000's when some MB models raised a few eyebrows in material quality execution. Audi, I agree has some of the best interiors but the color ... Read More
Hi, I realize that your message was from 2 years ago, but I am having this same problem with my escalade. Did they ever figure out whether it was a recall or not? Thanks Dave
As a newbie, I was requested to post here about the 07 I bought March 1. Sticker was $66,110.00. Has everything possible, except the $995 Diamond White. Raven Black, 22's, Climate Pkg, Info Pkg, Elec Seat Release, Rear entertainment, 2nd row buckets. $60,363 before tax & license. Made this deal while vehicle was still in transit from Texas. I'm sure it's hard to believe, but you can go to Sierra Motors ... Read More
I am an owner of a 2004 "Out of the Blue" blue Escalade EXT. I always receive so many comments from other young men and women on the styling and the color. I am afraid to say that I am disappointed too in the new 2007 exterior styling. It looks like a gussied up Mercury Mountaineer, definitely NOT "a good thing"! I am hopeful Cadillac reads this and modifies the new ... Read More
I bought a used Cadillac Escalade. It has been in the shop 4 times for the same thing ... everything dies on it. We thought it was the battery ... so we bought a new one. It has happened 3 times since and is currently in the shop again. Dealer says he thinks that this was a year that this model was recalled for a battery draw down problem. Does anyone ... Read More

I've been driving a 97 Ford Expedition for nearly 3 years now and it's time to upgrade... this time I want more! I have test driven every big SUV out there and I'll be picking up my 2000 Escalade in a few days. I can't wait!!! It is the sharpest SUV on the market. I'm very surprised that I'm interested in a Cadillac (I'm only 32 and single), but they are ... Read More
I've had my fingers crossed for the new platform for this year. I really want an SUV for this winter and would love an Escalade, but it seems silly to buy one one year before the new platform comes out. I also didn't want to deal with a drop-down tailgate; too hard to reach over to load and unload. I had hoped for a liftgate, which the GM website says will ... Read More
rhinox Escalade owners are really kidding themselves, to think they have "the" premium SUV, especially now that the totally new 2000 Chevy Tahoe is about to debut. Every one of the Escalade's direct SUV rivals offers a superior vehicle. The Escalade was obsolete the day it entered the market. I have no problem with Cadillac entering the SUV market. My problem is that the Escalade does not represent state-of-the-art engineering (or ... Read More
I'm so glad to find this discussion. I have a 98 STS and wouldn't trade it for anything. However I have been tearing out my hair shopping for an SUV. I was disappointed to see the drop-down tailgate on the Escalade. Loading & unloading way too difficult. On the GMC website I see the 2000 Yukon will have a liftgate option, but my Cadillac dealer says the 2000 Escalade will be ... Read More
I also don't understand why GM would not update the top of the line first. I really want an Escalade, and have seen the 2000 with the new panel doors. It looks great, but I still hate to buy a vehicle that will be redesigned next year. I'm waiting for the 2000 Yukon to show up as it has the new platform. I may lease that until Cadillac gets its act ... Read More
I couldn't agree with you more. It seems crazy that the Denali/Escalade are the last to get the changes and not the first. GM needs to take lessons from their luxury challengers and truly make Cadillac the brand of unrivaled engineering, design, and performance. Just look at how Mercedes introduces their top technologies in the S class or ML55 first. Then in subsequent model years, features like ESP, Brake Assist, Xenon ... Read More
The 2000 Tahoe is built on the new platform with 4 wheel discs & the new suspension, but for 10K to 15K more the Escalade/Denali has to wait until 2001. Does this make sense to anyone? What does this say about Cadillac as GM's technology leader? I'll give you this though, the Escalade/Denali are the best looking SUV's on the market. In fact the White Escalade is my favorite, or maybe its ... Read More
I think you better check your sources. Cadillac is coming out with a completely redesigned Escalade in 2000. They have not shown it an auto show yet because they are working to differentiate it from the Denali and other GM SUV. I think they are going to try to have a different exterior shape as well as a more "Cadillac" interior with the electronic climate control and stereo unit that Cadillac ... Read More
Just wait untill the 2000 model year. GM will have all thier SUVs based on the new truck platform. This will also give GM time to actually plan a new Escalade instead of just saying lets slap this part here or there on a Denali and call it a Cadillac. GM will really be moving foward in the next couple of years. As far as Cadillac goes there will be the ... Read More
