Can GM make Cadillac the standard of the world Again?

Re: The Only Luxury Car... [lemko]

Her is some interesteing data from July 2007. According to the industry examiners at CNW Research, Cadillac’s fortunes appear to be slipping away at the margins. In the firm’s July installment of their Retail Automotive Summary, their Aspirational Index (which judges a brand’s attractiveness to consumers) reveals that Cadillac’s rising star is beginning ... Re: Can we get back to Cadillac [mr215]

since you are a businessman I'm sure you would agree that the success or failure of Cadillac could be judged by the sales of the Escalade. You are critical of how cadillac developed the Escalade but you have not mentioned sales. The Escalade is still best in class from a sales perspective so I'm not sure how you can say that their strategy was flawed. I dont think removing ... Read More...

DTC code P0452

I have a 1999 Cadillac Escalade with DTC Error Code P0452. This is described as Evaporative Emission System Pressure Sensor/Switch Low Input. How do I "fix" the problem. I recently had the fuel pump replaced, before the "check engine" light came on. On a recent trip when I opened the gas cap to fill, it appeared to be under a vacuum. I saw where someone recommended ... Read More...

Cadillac Escalade

leased 2002 Escalade

My 3yr 1999 Escalade lease just ended. I worked hard to find a suitable SUV for my real estate military relocation business. My customers and I log 18K miles a year, 3-4 days straight, on the twisty, fast and traffic congested roads around the nation's capitol. Had the Tahoe before...wouldn't hold the curves safely and too harsh a ride. Tested the Navigator...truck ... Read More...

While the Cadillac Escalade is the only SUV out there on the market with "Stabillitrak", it is not the only SUV out there with a stability control system. MB beat everyone to it with this important safety feature in 1998, when it equipped its M-class with ESP (electronic stability programme) as standard equipment; in fact, MB equipped every single one of its MY1999 ... Cadillac FUN!

I bought a 99 Escalade this past November and I Love it! Before my purchase I went to the 1999 Spring Milwaukee Auto Show and looked at all SUVs. After sitting in all of them I really liked the Escalade. I read all the reviews and then test drove almost all of them. I know critics like to point out that the Cadillac is nothing new. But it had the best ride, the most room, ... Read More...

No body 74

My "source" is the June 1999 issue of Automobile magazine. They said that it is coming out next year as a 2001 model. The new Suburban/Tahoe/Yukon are out this fall. As greenml430 has said, hopefully Cadillac is taking the time to truly differentiate the Escalade from its lesser cousins. At least Ford was wise enough to equip the Navigator with an exclusive engine ... Read More...

Local dealer is everything

Also comes down to dealer service in your local market area. The Cadillac customer treatment would more likely be better than at the GMC dealer. Then again, a GMC dealer would likely have more experience servicing trucks. I almost forgot, isn't GM coming out with a revised full size SUV based on the new 1999 Chevy "Truck" for a '00 introduction? Based on the positive ... Read More...
