    I HAVE PURCHASED A LOW MILEAGE 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE AT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE LOCAL DEALER CLAIMS IT IS JUST NORMAL WIND TURBULENCE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS NORMAL FOR A LUXURY CAR LIKE THE CADILLAC. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

    The car is now (model year) 4 years old. The certification only runs 6 years or 100k miles. Depending when the car was originally delivered you may only have three years left and your certification will cost you about $1500. I think that $27k is high. From my experience, I would recommend you install only the tires recommended by the dealer (and let them do it).     Went to Cadillac.com web site and clicked on DTS, within the site is a compare vehicles section, you will find a pull down menu for competitors, pick Lincoln Town Car and than specifications. The stats show the two cars to be almost identical in interior room with one or the other leading by an inch or less in almost all categories. I doubt that anyone would choose one or the other ...     The only way to tell is to try one out. What is comfortable for one person may or may not be for someone else. I think that where the Town Car is very good is in the rear seat room, which is better than Cadillacs, as it should be, since the Town Car is longer.

I have an '03 Deville with 56,000 miles (a Program Car I bought in Jan.'04 with 30k miles) that has required virtually nothing in warranty repairs except for a wind noise around the rear passenger window.     I can tell you that my 2007 SRX also does not have a locking door for the fuel. I am not really concerned about this where I live. As long as your locking gas cap seals the gas tank, there won't be any messages. The messages come when the car's computer system detects that the fuel cap is not sealed.     I finally got an answer from Cadillac regarding the ability to program "the easy exit" drivers seat settings. You can't. The seat only moves all the way back when using this setting. This infringes onto the rear seat passenger. Another intermittent problem is rear seat seatbelts locking up when being used( passenger or booster seat).

    I agree. Don't turn the Deville/DTS into a sport sedan. You probably could get a better ride out of the new DTS by changing the tires.     All the official reviews of the DTS say that the ride is comfortable. I'm with you. I'm not crazy about a Town Car because every Ford I've owned has had multiple annoying problems (check engine light etc etc). My 2003 Deville has been trouble free.     The Lexus and the Avalon have far better resale value than any Cadillac but you can certainly avoid a big hit the first year by doing what I do and buying a year old "certified" Cadillac.     I think that the Ford GM six speed design was for FWDs, although I think the design is modular, so the six speed RWD design is probably related. They either blame the consumer (the engine sludge problem was always the fault of the owner -guess they finally fessed up) or tell you that it is either "normal" or "can't duplicate the problem".
