My wind noise was coming from the rear passengers door. The door was not aligned properly. I took it to the Ford dealer body shop and that is what they found. I have know the guy in charge of this body shop for years so can trust what he says. I also get some wind noise from the mirrors and nothing can be done about the. It's the way the car ... Read More

I HAVE PURCHASED A LOW MILEAGE 2007 CADILLAC DTS. THE ONLY COMPLAINT I HAVE IS THE EXCESSIVE WIND NOISE AT THE FRONT WINDSHIELD. THE LOCAL DEALER CLAIMS IT IS JUST NORMAL WIND TURBULENCE. I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS IS NORMAL FOR A LUXURY CAR LIKE THE CADILLAC. HAS ANYONE HAD THIS PROBLEM?

The car is now (model year) 4 years old. The certification only runs 6 years or 100k miles. Depending when the car was originally delivered you may only have three years left and your certification will cost you about $1500. I think that $27k is high. Look locally and see what 07's are selling for. I wouldn't pay more than $22 -23k for a 4 year old DTS. See what you ... Read More

Updated 4/2009 Our car is a 2006 Cadillac DTS Lux III purchased new, now 3 yrs old. We took the car in April 2009 for a windshield washer recall. We have always had the car serviced at the dealer (we no longer have a dealer in Grass Valley, CA). When the car was ready after the windshield recall fix, they told us they did and update on the Engine Control Module ... Read More

A similar thing happened to my Mother when driving her 2007 DTS! It has stopped dead (& with NO onstar activation either!) at least 5 times. The dealer has kept the car for 10+ days and GM even sent someone to "investigate," but the problem has not been fixed. Very scary. And, the dealer and GM seem to have washed their hands of the problem - every time she calls, the ... Read More

...but I just purchased a leftover new 2007 Cadillac DTS Performance back on Friday, November 23, 2007. I traded a 2002 Cadillac Seville STS. My car is Black Raven with the Ebony leather interior. It has just about every conceivable option on it. Unfortunately, I haven't driven the car too much due to the inclement weather. Can't wait for spring so I can take this baby out on the road again! ... Read More

2009 Changes?
Written by: vic10 on Dec 31, 2007 5:43:17 AM
A recent post on the cadillac owners webpage indicated there would be an interior upgrade to the DTS in 2009. Anyone here heard about that? One of my bigger disappointments, after a long test drive in a 2008 DTS, was getting picked up by a friend in her 2007 Impala and noting that the dash design was virtually identical to the 2X priced DTS. Chevy used to be called the poor ... Read More

Went to Cadillac.com web site and clicked on DTS, within the site is a compare vehicles section, you will find a pull down menu for competitors, pick Lincoln Town Car and than specifications. The stats show the two cars to be almost identical in interior room with one or the other leading by an inch or less in almost all categories. I doubt that anyone would choose one or the other ... The only way to tell is to try one out. What is comfortable for one person may or may not be for someone else. I think that where the Town Car is very good is in the rear seat room, which is better than Cadillacs, as it should be, since the Town Car is longer.

I was looking in Ft. Worth. Apparently Cadillac has some sort of regional office in Dallas and they have a number of executive cars driven for 4,000 miles or so. These cars are tested and comments sent to HQ. Frank Kent Cadillac had several 2007 Luxury II cars as well as a Performance with 4300 miles on it. Price was $37,000 back a couple of months ago.I agree that most of ... Read More

My '03 Deville has required virtually nothing in the way of mechanical repairs. The radio skipped on CDs occasionally so the dealer replaced it. I had a slight wind noise along the vertical edge of the right rear passenger window and the dealer replaced a large frame piece that contained the rear quarter window ($900 if I'd been paying for the job). The dealer said that if I had had the ... Read More

Back in '04 the '03 program cars I looked at were all base models. Mine was an ex-Alamo rental car. A few months ago I looked at two 15,000 mile certified used '06 DTS's at a Fort Worth dealership and both had the Luxury II package along with a sun roof. You might also find a loaded lease return. I plan on getting at least the Luxury II package on the ... Read More

Enjoyed your post very much! I own recent models of Cadillac Deville and Lincoln Town Car. I enjoy them both. They have plenty of power and are very comfortable cars. The Lincoln is more quiet with softer suspension and the Deville may have a little more power. My Deville is the second I have owned, so far I have had no major problems with either of my Cadillacs and have only ... Read More

I have the exact same thought re. a CPO Cadillac DTS. I've questioned a few dealers re. this and reluctantly they have to admit that if you get a CPO model 1 year old with limited milage, you're actually getting a better warranty than with a brand new car.My plan is to try to find a low milage 2007 in about 5 months.I know a lot of people are afraid of ... The Lexus and the Avalon have far better resale value than any Cadillac but you can certainly avoid a big hit the first year by doing what I do and buying a year old "certified" Cadillac. My '03 cost $27k in January of '04 with 29k miles. It now has 55k and has needed nothing in the way of serious repairs. It came with a 6 year 100k 0 deductible warranty ... Read More

I currently have a Lexus ES330, and a good friend has the Avalon. They are basically the same "Camry" in various forms. The Avalon has more room in the rear, but they both ride similarly. They are pretty quiet, but they are no Cadillac! The seats are much firmer, and the feel of the car is that of a much lighter vehicle. In addition, the car suffers from the famous transmission lag that ... Read More

Well first of all, the test drivers of most of those car magazine articles are maybe 25 and they think of "Mercedes" and "BMW" as I would think of "Cadillac" and "Lincoln" when reality is they actually represent "GM" and "Ford". So when they buy a Mercedes 190, they're not getting a "Caddy", they're really getting a German Chevrolet. But cachet is cachet. My first comparison with a Mercedes was in ... Read More

AutoWeek Comment on the 2007 DTS

Autoweek issued a supplemental Buyers Guide with capsule comments on each of the 2007 cars. The summary on the DTS was "The perfect car to drive to a retirement village". They loved the Avalon - "A solid, beautifully built big car". I rented an Avalon for an extended trip in Florida last month. It is essentially a mid sized car - the same general size as my '06 Impala and suffers ... Read More

Toyota has always handled consumer complaints poorly. They either blame the consumer (the engine sludge problem was always the fault of the owner -guess they finally fessed up) or tell you that it is either "normal" or "can't duplicate the problem". I'll most likely get a Certified 2007 or 2008 DTS (Luxury II package) in October, 2008 when my '03 Deville warranty runs out. If Cadillac downsizes the DTS I'll keep ... Read More

A few things off the top of my head... The front seats don't have as much hip room. I'm a bit of a big guy (6'2", 230#) and I feel squeezed in the drivers seat. I am fine with my 02 DeVille DTS. The sides of the seat seem to come up higher in the 2006. The clock is a disaster. It is tilted back facing the windshield. I can't read ... Read More

2006 DTS

I will consider buying a 2006 DTS sometime in 2007 when I can get a used one. It certainly won't be another stripped ex-rental car though like my 2003 Deville. I should have looked around more carefully and purchased a car that had been privately owned or leased with at least the basic package on it - heated seats, memory, etc. I will also opt for one with a sport suspension. ...
