Review

I bought this car with 114,500 miles and now has 132,000. I have had absolutely no problems of any kind, and it is still as tight as a brand new car. My gas mileage is 16.8 in town (avg.), and 24.7 on freeway (avg.) I have done as much as 31.2 mpg on a freeway trip from Portland OR to Eugene OR with the cruise control set the whole 128 miles at 55 mph. With proper care and maintainence, I fully expect to surpass the 292,000 miles I put on my 1979 Cadillac Coupe DeVille, and would not be surprised if I make it to 350,000-400,000. It is my opinion that these 93 coupes are way undervalued, as there were only 4,127 of the 2 door models made, and they are such excellent, safe, reliable, and powerfull car's.

The dimming rear view mirror, varible steering control, auto load level, and large trunk.

My 1993 Cadillac DeVille is a good car. I love it, the ride quality makes you feel like you are floating. It is the most comfortable car I've been in, but that goes for all DeVilles. It is solid (if you tap something it rarely even dents), she's a heavy car. The car still has plenty of power, only 200hp but a lot of torque, and a big V8. I have had to put $800 of work into it mechanically, but she's never died on me. I've had problems with the water pump, fuel pump, and a couple of things that a tune up could handle, but the even with those problems my DeVille has never let me down.

Favorite Features

Very smooth ride and a good, powerfull engine.

Suggested Improvements

When the car is in great condition there isn't much that could improve it.

Review

When I was looking for a car to buy I came across the cadillac deville, it was love at first sight. When i first purchased this car I felt like a million bucks. It has a great sound to the 4.9L V8, and is still quite fuel economic for its size. It is a smooth quite ride, with tons of space and comfortable leather seats. The exterior is beautiful with the hood ornament and chrome grill. This car is built so well that it most likely could last up to 230,000 miles. Every little feature to this car is excellent! if you buy this car you'll be noticed!

Favorite Features

The big 4.9L V8 engine is my favorite feature, the power tilt and seat movement is great! Twilight sentinal is also one of the best features. The fuel data center and climate control are great as well.

Suggested Improvements

The only problem with the car is the door locks there freeze in real cold weather.

I bought this car because we needed a second car when my wife went back to work. Basically, I started out looking for a little economy car, but I couldn't stand how small they were! So, I saw my caddy for sale and stopped for a test drive. I'll tell you right there, it was true love from the minute I sat down in those incredibly comfortable seats. Then after I applied my foot to the gas pedal and flew, I knew it had to be mine. The price was right, so I made the deal and I haven't regretted it yet. In fact, I just got a personalized plate that reds "LUVMYCAD" and that says it all!

Favorite Features

The adjustability of the seats! It's so easy for me at 5' 10" and my wife at 5' 5" to adjust perfectly and easily depending on who is driving. Plus, the leather wraps around you like a Lazyboy.

Suggested Improvements

Making the rear window a bit bigger, it can be hard to see when backing up. Also, I wish there were more variable settings for the windshield wipers.

This car is great! For four years now it has always been reliable. It also is very comfortable and always looks brand new after I clean it. I feel very fortunate to have this car. It is the third Cadillac in a row that I have owned. I know for sure I am going to get a fourth one. My current one has 120,000 miles and I bought it with 63,000.

Favorite Features

interior, exterior paint, technology, engine, reliability, comfort, rims, and the safety.

Suggested Improvements

The paint on the things around the astrays (in the back) and seat adjustment panels (both on the doors) wears down and peals. other than that its great.

and this one is my favorite. Bought this car new and have been driving it constantly (125,000 miles). Audio is spectacular, big V8 provides good pickup for such a large vehicle. Ride is still smooth and the seats have lazy boy caliber comfort. Decent highway gas mileage, cheap to fix, seats many comfortably/safely.

Interior comfort, audio, 4.9 Liter V8, this car will never die

Best Car I Ever Owned

This is by far the best car I have ever owned. Incredible comfort. This is the car you want for those long road trips cross-country. It just gets stronger as you let it stretch it's legs. It has been very reliable and an absolute pleasure to own and drive.

Favorite Features

The interior comfort and smooth ride with that big v-8 that is always ready to respond anytime you need. With a family of 5, this car always makes us feel a little safer having them wrapped by nearly 5000lbs of steel.

My First Caddy

I bought this vehicle when I turned 40. I always wanted a Cadillac. Aside from some problems I had because the previous owner did not take care of this car, I just love my CADDY. It's too bad that I have to use only prem. gas (because of the price per gallon). This car have been very good to me. When it comes time to trade up I will be looking for another Cadillac.

Overall, great car! Event though I bought it used, its reliability has far exceeded brand new cars that I bought before it (car has never left me stranded, except when it was my own fault). My next car will definitely be another Deville! And SOOO comfortable, the seats just swallow me! Negative? 1993 interior styling is too blah and "old school." I like the curvier styling (interior and exterior) of the 1996-1999 Devilles, but just couldn't afford a newer one at the time. My next Caddy will likely be a 96-99 Deville (I can't stand the squarish styling of the 2000 Devilles, though the LED taillights are cool).

Favorite Features

So incredibly comfortable. Ultra reliable. Low maintenance costs.

Suggested Improvements

1) Go back to the curvier styling of the 1996-1999 Deville model years. 2) ALL circuits are killed when the key is removed. Electronics that operate when car is off (such as alarm, clock, delayed headlights, etc.) should have their own dedicated lithium batteries.
