    The head gasket problem is there for all Northstars. In about 2000 or so, Cadillac did some minor redesign, they changed the thread count, and I think increased the length of the head bolts. This supposedly helped the problem. But, this last guy has a 2001, so it is still there. The problem is this is an alumium engine and head.     1993 cadillac devile 4.9 liter climate control and fuel data only shows a "c" on the displays. I've check the BCM, clusters, relays, fuses, temp. sensor, replaced alternator and still the same results. The blower moter runs until you turn the key to the off position.     The front passenger side fender has a crack above the wheel well. The fender appears to be made of plastic. Can it be repaired? If so, how?

    ...I purchased new in November 1993 and traded last January for a new 2002 Seville STS. My car had 96K miles and had given me no serious problems and few small ones. About the worst was a water pump replacement @ 85K miles which cost around $500.
