Re: Screwed on a 2010 CPO
Written by: stoneybroke on Apr 29, 2011 9:59:54 AM
The Cadillac CPO program is pretty good. It essentially extends the bumper to bumper coverage another 2 years or to 100K, whichever comes first. GM charges the dealers 1K for the warranty and the dealer pays for the vehicle inspection. Buyer costs range from $1200 to whatever the traffic will bear. IMO, Toyota platinum is a much better deal, but Toyota doesn't make the CTS.

Screwed on a 2010 CPO
Written by: stoneybroke on Apr 15, 2011 8:39:25 PM
I purchased this car out of state, from Towell Cadillac in Akron Ohio, and negotiations were done via phone and fax. I have a fax from the sales person with his handwritten note stating that the "in service" date was January of 2010. The car in question is a Certified 2010 CTS Sport Wagon with 1,250 miles on the odometer. Thanks to my servicing dealer, I found that the actual "in ... Read More

2010 CTS COupe
Written by: bojohart on Feb 4, 2009 8:38:52 AM
I had heard that Cadillac was bringing out a new CTS coupe, for 2010. Based upon this, I leased my 2008 STS, with lease expiring in August 2009, the date the new car was to have debuted. Cadillac has dropped the coupe's debut, instead, bringing out a station wagon. I have NO interest in a wagon, as we now have a 2009 Murano to fill that niche. I contacted Cadillac, and ... Read More

Re: Cadillac CTS anyone ??????? [drstein]

Well, one reason was GM essentially stopped leasing in mid 2009 and didn't restart again until mid-late 2010. That said, this is not the leases forum - it's the prices paid forum...??? We are buying a CPO 2008 CTS this week, i might post some details here, after its delivered. I'll probably get told that i got taken to the cleaners, but it's only money.

Hi, My car lease is up in February. The residual is about 25k, car mileage is a little under 20k. 1. Can I get anywhere trying to negotiate with smart lease for buyout? 2. Is this a good price - (Car is loaded - leather, navigation, heated seats, key-less entry, moon, delay lights, etc. - 3. If I were to not buy out car can I get a certified 2010, or leftover, ... Hi simon24. Most likely General Motors is taking the cash incentives that are currently available on leases of the CTS into account in its advertised payments. Having said that, most manufacturers' official advertised payments tend to leave a little meat on the bone so to speak. It makes sense if one thinks about it. Dealers would be pretty irritated with the automaker that they are affiliated with if they advertised the ... Read More

You're very welcome, Alex. According to my calculations, if you were to lease a 2010 Cadillac CTS Sedan Premium 2WD that has an MSRP of $48,685 and a selling price of 40,260 ($46,685 - $6,425 lease cash) through GMAC right now for 36 months with 10,000 miles per year, your zero down, pre-tax monthly payment would be around $557. Hey suzay22. I'm saying that General Motors is providing a $6,425 cash incentive on leases of this car through GMAC at no cost to the dealer. In essence this means that its dealer invoice price is that much lower than the one that is published here at Edmunds.com. How much over that price you have to pay depends upon what sort of deal you negotiate with the dealer. Through September 7th, ... Read More

I put the DMV fees both as cap reduction and cap addition (which confuses taxes). And I put the first month's payment as cap reduction. You can see that if I put the raw numbers in and turn off ... Cadillac CTS Luxury Edition $389/month

I'm in NJ and about the pull the trigger on leasing a 2010 Cadillac CTS Luxury model. The car is RWD, 12k/year, and everything else it comes with is standard in the Luxury package. Tax/titles/etc works out to be around $2,700 down. The price I negotiated with the dealer is $389/month. From what I've seen on these postings the price seems great. I'm not sure that the CTS Sport Wagon and the SRX would cannibalize each other greatly. Not everyone wants an SUV, especially someone shopping a CTS in the first place. The Sport Wagon is smaller and holds less, but it is also faster, less thirsty, and more agile. Of the two, I would definitely choose the Sport Wagon, although opinions obviously differ.

I am not so sure Cadillac needs a CTS Sport Wagon, unless it will be more useful or popular than the SRX. They don't need both of these, so whichever is best as a small SUV is what they should make. If only offering the Auto Trans helps keep the design cost down, they should do that, since they won't sell enough sticks. Sticks belong in the CTS-V.

I think that we have lost the battle for a stick. The last time I was on a site that allows you to configure a CTS (sedan at the moment) the stick was listed as discontinued. I was configuring it with a direct injection engine however, the stick may, at least theoretically, still be available with the base engine.

I love a stick too, but I would not buy a Cadillac with one. It would kill your trade-in value at trade or private sell. When people think of Cadillac, they don't typically think of a stick. I asked a dealer if you would take a hit at trade on a stick; he said that you would.

Oh boy, am I with you there. But I don't think that the manual in the sedan got many takers. I live just north of San Francisco and when I looked for CTS sedan with the stick the closest one in stock was 400 miles away. The wagon with the manual would certainly be a nice package though.

I'm a wagon guy and was excited about the prospects of a true manual transmission in a five-passenger wagon but looking at the latest information (at cadillac.com) it looks like the manual transmission that has been promised since this variant of the CTS popped up at auto shows got an 11th hour hatchet job from the bean counters and the "Sport" part of this equation just diminished considerably.

2010 Cadillac CTS Sport Wagon

I am very interested in peoples' reaction to the introduction of this wagon by Cadillac. I actually like the looks, and if it turns out to have reasonable cargo carrying capacity I would seriously consider buying it (if it's still there to buy after the GM bother is over). What do people think?
